Alan leads Counterpoint around a conviction that has shaped the company since 1986: off-the-shelf software can solve a basic problem, but it rarely gives an insurance program the flexibility it needs to compete.
Under his leadership, Counterpoint builds customized solutions that take advantage of what is unique about each program, helping agencies and carriers exchange information, review portfolio performance and manage the ongoing changes that keep programs profitable.

VP & CIO
As Chief Information Officer, Ed is Counterpoint's chief architect and directs software development and network operations. He was instrumental in redesigning the company's flagship framework, which now incorporates Counterpoint's own intellectual property and speeds development.
His work includes turning a pencil-and-paper system more than a century old into an integrated, searchable database, with an interface comfortable even for people who had never worked on a computer.

Comptroller
Valerie keeps Counterpoint moving forward, overseeing the stewardship and management of the firm's finances through effective, efficient accounting. She joined Counterpoint in 2003 and holds a BA in Economics and a Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law.
From 2005 to 2018 she was also owner and president of Zephyr Equities, where she mentored executive managers on business planning, development, mergers, investor relations and marketing strategy.
OperationsDelivery
Director of Operations
Matt applies his background in software development and project management to create solutions for clients. He focuses on the automation of client workflow, risk assessment and rating, which he sees as key to their growth and profitability, and makes sure each solution is delivered efficiently and effectively.
Before joining Counterpoint, Matt spent eight years as a lead software consultant and project manager in pharmaceutical R&D and bioinformatics. He holds a degree in Computer Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
