Counterpoint Software, Inc. recognizes the need for customized software solutions to take advantage of what is unique about each program, allowing agencies and companies to communicate information, review the performance of their portfolios, and to manage ongoing changes necessary to maintain their profitability. The capabilities of these systems result in a reduction in time, manpower, and costs. Counterpoint Software has been developing custom business management solutions since 1986. Our broad client base include insurance companies, managing general agencies, wholesale agencies, and claims administrators that range from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses.

Edward McLaughLin

VP & CIO

As Chief Information Officer at Counterpoint Software, Ed McLaughlin is the chief architect and director of software development and network operations. He was instrumental in the redesign of the Counterpoint Software Flagship Framework which now consists of company IP in addition to speeding development time. Ed was able to distill an over 100 year old pencil and paper system into an integrated, searchable database management system with a user interface that even those who never worked on computers before were able to use comfortably. Ed is a dedicated IT professional is always on the forefront of what is happening in the world of IT and electronics.

Besides spending time with his wife and 4 children, Ed is a DIYer and also fixes, TVs, radios, and cell phones in his spare time. Ed is a member of many insurance and electronics groups and also groups within his alma mater LaSalle University in Philadelphia.

Valerie Vekkos

Comptroller

Valerie keeps Counterpoint Software moving forward. She ensures the stewardship and management of the firm's finances through effective and efficient accounting. Valerie joined Counterpoint Software in 2003. She graduated with a BA in Economics and holds her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law.

Valerie shares her time between Counterpoint Software and was Owner and President of Zephyr Equities from 2005 thru 2018, where she mentored executive managers on business planning, development, mergers and investor relations and marketing strategies.

In her spare time Valerie enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends. Valerie’s life goal is to complete a world tour stepping on foot on each of the continents.

Matt Yonkoske

As Director of Operations, Matt utilizes his experience in software development and project management to create novel and innovative solutions for clients. He knows that automation of client workflow, risk assessment and rating solutions are key to their growth and profitability. He works diligently to ensure client solutions can be realized efficiently and effectively.

Prior to joining Counterpoint Software, Matt spent 8 years as a lead software consultant and project manager within the pharmaceutical R&D and bio-informatics sector. His contributions enabled pharmaceutical companies to see increased throughput of drug candidates to market. He now resides in Pittsburgh with his wife and daughter. He enjoys spending time fishing, golfing and playing ice hockey. He holds a degree in Computer Science from Indiana University of PA (IUP).
